About Us – Princess Alli Foundation

The Princess Alli Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that was founded in April 2015 to support the families of children with illnesses in memory of Allison Ruth Russcher. Our vision is to promote family-centered inpatient care nationwide by providing meal and toiletry support to caregivers while in the hospital setting.

Our work is of the utmost importance.

It is common for parents to not be able to leave their child’s bedside for adequate meals, a shower, or to wash laundry during a hospital stay. Charities that provide services away from the bedside are often not a practical solution for these families who may be cities or states away from the support of families and friends. Providing food and toiletry support not only makes the caregiver’s stay more comfortable, but also allows them to focus their energy on advocating for and comforting their special child.

We have been serving inpatient families of the RNICU, PICU, and Pediatrics departments at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, MI by providing care packages since May 2015! In 2016 we expanded our services to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, Bronson Children’s Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, and Hurley Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital in Flint, MI. In 2018 we began shipping care packages to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor and Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Troy and Detroit locations.

It is our dream to expand services of the Princess Alli Foundation to provide daily service at hospitals NATIONWIDE – – AND WE’RE ON OUR WAY! Generous support in 2018 has enabled us to work on making our care packages shippable which will allow us to reach families across the United States! We completed our first round of shipments for our 50 States Challenge in October, and can’t wait to do it again in 2019.
